These taxis change the graph in weekends from 7 a.m. to 6-7 p.m. Of course the taxis are twice expensive than buses, but they are twice comfortable, as you may order it from the phone and it will come to the requested place. For example, a trip from Larnaca to Nicosia or Limassol is up to 2 pounds, from Limassol to Nicosia is 2.2 pounds, and to Pathos is 1.8. As in every country, you have to pay the whole trip cost at the time you get in the car. By the way, do not forget that fixed-run taxis do not run to the airports. In such cases, you should take a taxi. This kind of taxi will take you to every place, but the Northern Cyprus - Turkish part. On Cyprus, there are 2 kinds of payment - at night and day. You pay strictly according to the counter-timer and this is your choice to let or not tip. In case you would like to take a taxi and to look for curiosities, clarify from the very beginning namely what you would like to see and the payment as well. That is why the best way is to hire a car by yourself. It would be much cheaper, more comfortable, suitable and human.
